Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City Signs Agreement For Benefitfocus Technology
Mount Pleasant, SC - December 2, 2002 - Benefitfocus.com Inc., the leader in electronic enrollment and benefits technology, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, the market leader in health insurance products within a 32-county area, serving greater Kansas City and northwest Missouri, today announced that BCBSKC has signed an agreement with Benefitfocus to provide Internet and kiosk electronic enrollment technology through the BluesEnroll platform in a pilot project over the next twelve months. The first group selected to pilot the BluesEnroll platform will be the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Kansas City.
With the BluesEnroll platform Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City will streamline enrollment processes, realize increased efficiencies in workflow, and gain significant reductions in operational costs. Additionally, competitive advantages will be increased through greater access to BCBSKC products and benefit information for groups and members, flexible Internet tools for reporting information, and the ability to deliver new consumer focused health care products to the marketplace. BCBSKC continues to be the market leader within healthcare in delivering innovative products and technologies to the Kansas City marketplace.

The Benefitfocus technology is currently being integrated with the BCBSKC membership system and the first Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City pilot group, the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Kansas City will be rolled out during the first quarter of 2003.
