| Submitting your resume |
|
A well-prepared resume may not lead directly to a job offer, but it will certainly improve your chances of being considered for a position and possibly help you land an interview. Here are a few suggestions for submitting your resume to Benefitfocus:
|
-
Make sure that your resume is up-to-date and clearly describes your past jobs, expertise and strengths
-
To highlight your qualifications present specific accomplishments and achievements in your field: awards you’ve won, accounts you’ve developed, percentages you’ve increased or decreased while in the position
-
Tell us about specific positions that are of interest to you and your skills and qualifications for those positions. This will help us match your abilities with the opportunities at Benefitfocus
-
Check your spelling. Please use the spell check feature on your computer or ask a friend to review your resume for typos and grammatical errors. Hiring managers have a hard time overlooking these kinds of mistakes
-
Be factual and do not exaggerate on titles, responsibilities or dates. Benefitfocus will conduct a thorough background investigation during the hiring process. Inaccurate information could immediately disqualify you from consideration
-
Include your current contact information. Please double check your email address, phone numbers, and physical mailing address before submitting your resume

| Preparing for an interview |
|
There is no such thing as a typical interview at Benefitfocus. Depending on the position for which you’re being considered your interview could include a technical design discussion, problem solving scenarios, a presentation or brainteasers.
|
|
At Benefitfocus our strategy is simple: we hire great people whose opinions, ideas and participation in the company’s decisions aren’t just welcome – they’re expected. During the interview we hope to learn about your current capabilities and your potential for growth. Here’s a few words of advice on how to make the most of your interview - straight from our hiring managers.
|
-
Get plenty of rest the night before. You will be meeting with three to seven individuals over the course of your interview. You want to be rested and ready.
-
Be honest
-
Dress should be professional yet comfortable. Your interview could take a couple of hours so you want to wear an outfit that makes you feel your best.
-
Remember to be yourself. We want to get to know the real you. Let your natural enthusiasm and your positive attitude make the positive impression
-
Be prepared for abstract questions. We will ask you some abstract questions for which there are no right or wrong answers. We just want to know how well you think on the spot.

This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We are looking forward to meeting you. So relax. Ask questions. Take the time to get to know us. It may be the first step of an incredible career.
