As president and Chief Executive Officer of Benefitfocus, Shawn Jenkins is responsible for marketing, business development and strategic positioning of the company. He is one of the founders and part of the Board of Directors. Prior to his work with Benefitfocus, Jenkins was vice president and principal with American Pensions, Inc.
Mason R. Holland, Jr. | chairman of the board (founder)
In his capacity as Chairman of the Board, Mason Holland is responsible for all Board activities. Holland is also responsible for coordination of strategic partnerships with industry leaders and the development of large client relationships. He built his career around creating efficiencies in start-up and financial companies and understanding emerging markets in the early adopter stages. In addition to Benefitfocus, Holland has founded two other profitable companies and taken a fourth out of bankruptcy. He has entered each venture with the goal of driving down costs for the consumer and clients while still generating a profit.
Bert Young | chief financial officer
Bert Young leads Benefitfocus' accounting and finance strategies and activities and oversees Benefitfocus Human Resources. A seasoned executive with over 27 years of finance experience, Young has shown the ability to manage rapid growth. Prior to joining Benefitfocus, Young served as the CFO at several technology companies such as LANDesk Software, Talk2 Technology and Whittman-Hart Inc. Throughout his career, Young has demonstrated a talent for directing complex financial transactions and the ability to leverage complex technology.
Don Taylor | chief technology officer
Don Taylor is responsible for the technological direction of Benefitfocus. A software industry veteran, Taylor brings expertise in the healthcare, banking and logistics solutions markets. Prior to joining Benefitfocus, Taylor most recently served as founder and CTO for a successful software company whose product was delivered as a SaaS multi-tenant suite of applications to the third party logistics market. With the unique ability to relate a technological vision into enterprise value, Taylor has demonstrated his unwavering passion for delivering value to the customer.
Andy Howell | senior vice president and general manager, carrier
Howell is responsible for all aspects of the carrier division of Benefitfocus. He also serves as General Counsel for software licensing, professional services, contract negotiation and all legal matters concerning the company. Prior to joining Benefitfocus, Howell was vice president and General Counsel for Blackbaud, Inc. where he was a key player in moving the company through their pre-IPO and IPO process.
Annmarie Fini | senior vice president of Employer Division
Annmarie Fini is responsible for all aspects of the employer division of Benefitfocus including client implementation, client support and member support operations. As senior vice president of Client Services, Fini is responsible for ensuring that clients and their employees are given training, service and support throughout the implementation process, and on an ongoing basis.
Nancy Sansom | vice president of Marketing and Communication
Nancy Sansom is responsible for strategic planning, marketing, creative services and corporate communication for Benefitfocus. Sansom's background includes software product development, marketing, implementation and consulting, as well as manufacturing and supply chain management. Sansom earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
