Shawn A. Jenkins | President & CEO (founder)
As president and Chief Executive Officer of Benefitfocus, Shawn Jenkins is responsible for marketing, business development and strategic positioning of the company. He is one of the founders and sits on the Board of Directors. Prior to his work with Benefitfocus, Shawn was vice president and principal with American Pensions, Inc.
Mason R. Holland, Jr. | Chairman of the Board (founder)
In his capacity as Chairman of the Board, Mason Holland is responsible for all Board activities. Mr. Holland is also responsible for coordination of strategic partnerships with industry leaders and the development of large client relationships.
Bert Young | Chief Financial Officer
Bert Young leads Benefitfocus' accounting and finance strategies and activities. A seasoned executive with over 27 years of finance experience, Young has shown the ability to manage rapid growth. Prior to joining Benefitfocus, Young served as the CFO at several technology companies such as LANDesk Software, Talk2 Technology and Whittman-Hart Inc. Throughout his career, Young has demonstrated a talent for directing complex financial transactions and the ability to leverage complex technology. Young earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Utah State University.
Don Taylor | Chief Technical Officer
Don Taylor is responsible for the technological direction of Benefitfocus. A software industry veteran of 25 years, Taylor brings expertise in the healthcare, banking and logistics solutions markets. Prior to joining Benefitfocus, Don most recently served as founder and CTO for a successful software company whose product was delivered as a SaaS multi-tenant suite of applications to the third party logistics market. With the unique ability to relate a technological vision into enterprise value, Taylor has demonstrated his unwavering passion for delivering value to the customer.
Andy Howell | Senior Vice President and General Counsel
As General Counsel, Howell is responsible for software licensing, professional services, contract negotiation and all legal matters concerning the company. Prior to joining Benefitfocus, Howell was vice president and General Counsel for Blackbaud, Inc. where he was a key player in moving the company through their pre-IPO and IPO process.
Annmarie Fini | Senior Vice President of Client Services
Annmarie Fini is responsible for client implementation, client support and member support operations at Benefitfocus. As senior vice president of Client Services, Fini is responsible for ensuring that clients and their employees are given training, service and support throughout the implementation process, and on an ongoing basis.
Paul Sparrow | Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
As senior vice president of Sales and Marketing for Benefitfocus, Paul Sparrow is responsible for the strategic development and tactical execution of Enterprise Sales, Business Fulfillment, Marketing, and Public Relations. He has a broad sales, marketing and business development background in the healthcare and IT industries.
Ken Poletti | Vice President of Integration and Data Services
Ken Poletti is responsible for successful integration between the Benefitfocus suite of products and health insurance carriers’ systems. As vice president of Integration and Data Services, Poletti and his team assemble system integration and implementation requirements, as well as conduct business process re-engineering, project management, new product integration and technical sales support.
Nancy Sansom | Vice President of Product Management
Nancy Sansom is responsible for defining the strategic direction and evolution of Benefitfocus’ entire suite of products. This includes evaluating, enhancing and bringing to market new products. Additionally, Nancy’s team performs a number of enterprise-wide services from design, user research, program management, market research, product documentation and sales support. Sansom's background includes software product management, implementation and consulting, as well as manufacturing and supply chain management experience. Sansom earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
Nina Sossamon-Pogue | Vice President of Benefitfocus Media
Nina Sossamon-Pogue, an Emmy Award-winning television news anchor, is vice president of Benefitfocus Media. With a background in investigative reporting, Nina was a popular on-air talent for ABC and NBC affiliates before joining Benefitfocus. Prior to that, she served as press secretary to Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards. Nina graduated from Louisiana State University and is a former member of the United States Gymnastics Team.
Randy Chitwood | Vice President of Infrastructure Services and Business Continuity
Randy Chitwood is responsible for the planning, implementation and maintenance of Benefitfocus’ technical and building infrastructure. As vice president of Infrastructure Services and Business Continuity, Chitwood leads up a group of talented IT professionals whose goal is to provide reliable and scalable infrastructure upon which Benefitfocus can develop, deploy and host our company’s suite of products. Prior to joining Benefitfocus, Randy had successful careers as a military officer, in management with both Corning Glass Works and GTE, and as a business owner. Chitwood is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and earned a degree in Computer Science from the College of Charleston.
