Benefitfocus Unveils New Technology and Apps
At Prevue 2011, we announced a new set of mobile, self-service, shopping and consumer engagement tools that transform benefit enrollment and communication. Benefitfocus is bringing something completely unique to the market, providing technology that supports the entire benefits lifecycle in one place. Total Compensation App
Help employees understand the full value of their benefits. The BENEFITFOCUS® Total Compensation App is an employee education and retention tool, incorporating salary and benefit details so employees appreciate the comprehensive financial commitment to their total compensation package. Employees access to their statements online, through BENEFITFOCUS® HR InTouch, at any time. Learn more
Plan Shopping Experience
Benefitfocus unveiled the latest version of the BENEFITFOCUS® Plan Shopping App, which now incorporates claims data to provide even more options for estimating out-of–pocket costs for different health plans. Employees can now compare plans based upon average healthcare usage for employees within their company or their actual claims data from the prior year. Learn more
Benefitfocus also launched a separate Cost Tracker that shows employees the impact of their benefit enrollment decisions on their paychecks throughout the enrollment process, much like a shopping cart on a retail shopping site.
Dependent Self-Service
Make BENEFITFOCUS® HR InTouch available to dependents. With dependent self-service, employees can now create separate accounts for spouses and dependents, giving them access to HR InTouch to view open enrollment information, benefit guides and wellness resources.
Document Center
Eliminate paper processing for dependent verification and life events. When employees have a life event that requires documentation, they can simply upload a photo of a marriage certificate, birth certificate or other legal document into their document center for the HR team to review and approve.
Email and Text Notifications
Stay in touch with employees on the go. HR Administrators have the ability to trigger email and text notifications to employees for health alerts, reminders and new messages in the HR InTouch Message Center. Employees can choose their preferred method for notification – they can be notified via their personal email, work email or SMS text.
Shop and Apply
Help consumers find the plans that fit their needs. Shop and Apply is a consumer shopping portal built on the BENEFITFOCUS® Platform, offering educational tools and a simple plan selection workflow. We’re partnering with the best voluntary carriers, benefits administrators, wellness companies and more to provide apps that complement our core enrollment, communication and benefit management capabilities. Prevue marked the launch of several new apps available on the Benefitfocus Platform, created by Aflac, ING, Unum, Navigenics, InfoArmor and GiveBack. ING Benefits App

Offers enrollment for ING plans alongside core medical and dental enrollment, eliminating the extra steps that can sometimes deter employees from participating in voluntary benefits programs. Plans offered through the ING Benefits App include Universal Life, Whole Life, Disability Income, Critical Illness and Accident Insurance.

Employers increase participation in voluntary benefits programs and offer a comprehensive benefits package with minimal administrative overhead.
