Kevin joined Benefitfocus in March 2022 as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Cyber risk is a global issue, escalating rapidly. Kevin has a passion to mitigate this risk by successfully implementing programs and processes to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of critical business and customer data and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Kevin brings more than 25 years of diverse, in-depth information security and software engineering experience along with executive leadership and cross-functional business expertise. As CISO, he will be responsible for developing and executing an information security strategy to establish, mature and maintain a comprehensive, enterprise-wide security program that minimizes cyber risk to the organization. He will identify, evaluate and protect against security risks to ensure the company meets its compliance and regulatory requirements. He will also closely monitor emerging security threats and adjust the company’s security posture to minimize these threats to the organization.
Street Cred
Kevin received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas and an MBA from Rice University. He has held leadership roles at startups and Fortune 500 companies alike. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Information Security at Global Payments where he was chartered with reducing enterprise cyber risk and enabling software engineering teams to deliver secure products and solutions. During his tenure at Global Payments, Kevin was responsible for Security Governance and Compliance, Application Security, Cloud Security, Security Operations and Mergers and Acquisitions. Previously, Kevin has led software engineering organizations with security startups like Damballa and SPI Dynamics, later acquired by Hewlett Packard.
Hobbies and Interests
Kevin enjoys traveling to new destinations, lacing up for a long run, and watching college football with his two college-aged sons.
