Benefitfocus to provide online benefits enrollment and administration solution for growing health system

Charleston, S.C. – September 17, 2014 – Benefitfocus, Inc. (NASDAQ: BNFT), a leading provider of cloud-based benefits software solutions, today announced that Kootenai Health has selected the Benefitfocus HR INTOUCH MARKETPLACE® to support benefit enrollment and employee engagement for the company’s workforce of more than 2,500 employees. Kootenai Health provides a comprehensive range of medical services to patients across several facilities in Idaho, eastern Washington and the inland Northwest including its main campus in Coeur d’Alene, ID. HR INTOUCH MARKETPLACE consolidates benefits-related information within a centralized portal that is accessible from any web-enabled device, allowing Kootenai Health to offer employees a more convenient way to shop for, and enroll in their benefits.

HR INTOUCH MARKETPLACE transforms the enrollment experience into a Guided Shopping workflow that provides employees with plan recommendations based on historical and expected utilization. Plan comparison tools, educational videos and virtual assistants are incorporated into the portal, helping employees navigate enrollment and focus on selecting the benefits that best meet their individual needs.

With established data exchange connections, Benefitfocus seamlessly transmits data between HR INTOUCH MARKETPLACE, insurance carriers and payroll systems to streamline the enrollment process. Kootenai Health will also leverage the flexible reporting tools available through the portal to track employee activity, measure participation rates and monitor enrollment data. This provides the company with a greater understanding of how its employees are using the portal and what changes could be made to drive participation in plans that are more cost-effective for the employee and organization.
