Driving Towards Health Equity: A Moderated Conversation with Health Care Experts

According to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, “Health equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible.” While health equity has been a goal of many organizations for decades, events over the last 15+ months have shined a light on systemic inequities in health care. In this thought-provoking discussion, our panel will:

  • Define health equity and social determinants of health, including how they intersect
  • Highlight several of the largest areas of inequity in the American health care system
  • Discuss challenges in achieving health equity and strategies to combat those challenges
  • Share advice on how payers, providers and employers can work together towards more equitable care.

Panelists:

  • David Ansell, M.D., M.P.H., Senior Vice President for Community Health Equity, Rush University Medical Center
  • Garth Graham, M.D., M.P.H., Director and Global Head of Healthcare and Public Health, Google/YouTube
